The practice is situated to the East of the centre of Portsea Island. To the North and East it is bordered by the sea, it extends southwards into Southsea and westwards to the old A3 roads of Kingston and North End. Historically Portsea Island was a number of small towns, which have merged over the years to the extent that Portsmouth is now one of the most densely populated cities in Europe. It remains at the heart of maritime England with a naval association extending over many centuries. The area enjoys the benefit of a warmer than average climate and proximity to the South Coast and Isle of Wight with easy access to France, the Channel Islands and Europe via local ferry services.
