Our list size is around 8000 patients, but will probably expand in the near future with planned local housing developments. The practice has been established in the location for more than sixty years with a long Christian ethos.
As a training practice we take final year medical students from Southampton and are a part of the Portsmouth Vocational Training Scheme (VTS). We recently piloted Pre-Registration House Officer (PRHO) training in general practice locally. As part of our commitment to medical education we regularly participate in local and regional educational events and we provide "in house" training in protected time bi-monthly.
Our aim is to provide excellent medical care to our practice population that is easily accessible and meets our patients' physical, emotional and spiritual needs. We seek to be a positive influence in the life of the community we serve.
As a practice we endeavour to maintain the highest high level of service. Unfortunately problems can occur and we try to resolve these as promptly and efficiently as possible.
If you have a complaint or concern about the service you receive please ask for a "Complaints procedure" leaflet and form. Alternatively you can read more about our complaints procedure on our Complaints Page, download the Baffins Surgery Complaints Policy document or download the Baffins Surgery Complaints Form.
We welcome and appreciate any views or suggestions you may have regarding any aspect of our service, including our website - please feel free to contact us. You may wish to download and print our patient feedback form then complete and return it.
We operate from new premises at St Cuthbert's Church, on Hayling Avenue, We were delighted when we were approached by the Anglican Church, located within 200 yards of our previous surgery, and asked to participate in a healthy living project, developing the Church for wider community use. The new site has been developed with Private Finance Initiative (PFI) monies and there is ample space for future developments. There is, understandably, considerable local interest and support for this venture. The Patient Management System (PMS) and new General Medical Services (GMS) contracts give scope for many additional services using these new premises, subject to Primary Care Trusts (PCT) and General Practitioner (GP) approval.
