MATTHEW CRISP BM Soton, DRCOG, MRCGP
Normal working days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (morning).
I was born in the West Midlands, then spent my teenage years in West Kent before starting at Southampton Medical School in 1988. I moved to Portsmouth to complete four years of junior doctor posts at St Mary’s and Queen Alexandra Hospitals. I trained as a GP under the auspices of Dr Rogers, the start of my affiliation with Baffins.
I worked for three years at the Sunnyside Surgery (then in Fratton) before a permanent post became available at Baffins in 2001. It has been a joy to serve the local community and see the development of the St. Cuthbert’s project in recent years.
I am involved in Church life in Southsea and enjoy regular long distance running including the London Marathon.
CHARLOTTE DAY MBBS MSc(Hons) MRCGP MFFP DRCOG
Normal working days Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (morning).
I was born in Lowestoft, Suffolk and trained at St. Georges Medical School in 1997. I worked in Brighton and London for five years – mainly in obstetrics and gynaecology before I saw the light and became a GP! I trained as a GP locally in Havant and came to Baffins as a Partner in 2002. I still have an interest in Women’s Health and also work locally for the Contraception and Sexual Health Service.
I have four children (two boys and twin girls) and live on Hayling Island. I am involved with the Hayling Island Baptist church and also enjoy reading, singing and riding my horse – Jack.
HELEN HARRIS BM DRCOG DFFP MRCGP

I trained in Southampton University and have lived on the South Coast since then. I started working at Baffins Surgery in 2005.
I got married in 2007 and recently moved to Chichester with my husband, who is also a doctor. I enjoy physical sports especially rugby and interior wall climbing.
DAVID ROGERS BMedSc BMBS MRCGP
Normal working days: Monday, Tuesday (afternoon), Wednesday, Thursday (morning) and Friday.
We moved to Portsmouth with our young family in 1986 from Nottingham where I had trained as a doctor and married Jan, a teacher. We now have three grown up children and are very happy here.
It has been my privilege to serve the people of Baffins, continuing a long tradition of caring for the needs of our community. I took over from Dr Ben Megarry who had been in Practice here for fifty years! I am very proud to be part of an excellent team which strives for excellence in providing holistic care. Our link with St. Cuthbert’s Church is a very exciting project and we are very grateful for their generosity to us.
My particular interest is in medical education and we have been fortunate to participate in the training of many doctors, some of whom now form part of our medical team.
CATHERINE SWEATMAN BM DRCOG MRCGP
Normal working days: Monday and Thursday.
I went to medical school in Southampton and then moved over to Portsmouth for my GP training at St Mary’s, QA Hospital and Baffins Surgery. I have been at Baffins ever since and continue to thoroughly enjoy working here.
I am married to Robert and together we are very involved with our local Church, particularly working with children and youth. This youth work has led on to me running a drop-in GP session weekly at Highbury College in Portsmouth. We have also been involved with a charity, the Grassroots Trust, for the last 14 years which involves regular trips to Tanzania to visit the projects that the charity is supporting.
