The Practice is a teaching and training Practice and often has a GP Registrar or another trainees working here. If you would prefer to see one of the permanent clinicians please make this clear when booking the appointment.
GP Registrars are required to video some of their consultations to confirm their ability to properly consult. We also have staff sitting in on colleague appointments to ensure medical standards are maintained. If you are not willing to the consultation being filmed for training purposes or would prefer to see your clinician on their own we will ensure your request is honoured.
We are fully committed to the training of all our staff. In addition to ad-hoc courses, the local surgeries share half-day training sessions once a month on a Wednesday afternoon. On these days this surgery will be closed at 1pm. Should you need urgent treatment at these times, when telephoning the surgery you will either be given the number for urgent problems or the call will be diverted to an urgent locum service. During these training sessions you will not be able to speak to the reception staff, book appointments or discuss routine queries.
The dates are set annually - the current list of dates is shown below - all are Wednesdays:
| 23 March | 19 October |
| 25 May | 23 November |
| 22 June | 25 January 2012 |
| 27 July | 22 February |
| 28 September | 28 March |
